     Summary
When Julia Culler's husband, Mark, was killed while water-skiing, Julia resigned herself to living alone with her two children at their house on Heron Key. She knew the man responsible for her husband's death...she thought. The death was judged an accident. Julia and her children lived in isolation, trying to forget the past. It was only when strange things started happening that she realized forgetfulness was not enough -- not nearly enough. Like the time someone cut through the kids' rope swing. Or sawed through the roof of their playhouse. Or gave them deadly candy. Or set their bedroom on fire...Why? And who? A stranger, or someone the family knew?
