     MOVIE SUMMARY

On April 7, 1997 NBC aired the TV drama Killing Mr. Griffin. The movie stars Amy Jo Johnson (Power Rangers/Felicity), Mario Lopez (Save By the Bell/Pacific Blue) and even Michelle Willams (Dawson's Creek). Here is a summary of the movie from the Internet Movie Database:

The high school students didn't mean to kill Mr. Griffin. They wanted to make him suffer. But when their mean English teacher turns up dead, they have to find out who killed them before the police arrests them all.

On a good note, Lois Duncan stated more than once that she indeed did like this movie and compared to other movies made from her books; it was somewhat similar to the original plot of the Griffin novel.

A movie called Teaching Mrs. Tingle is somewhat based on Killing Mr. Griffin novel also.

This movie does run occassionaly on the Lifetime Television Network.

     BOOKS VS. MOVIE
Is the movie like the book? Yes and no. The basic plot and characters from the book are in this movie. Some things have remained the same while other things are different. A lot of concepts have been updated, though. A descent book to movie adaptation.
