MOVIE SUMMARY
Loosely based on the book Gallows Hill, I've Been Waiting For You aired on NBC on March 28, 1998. It stars Sarah Chalke (Rosanne TV Series) as Sarah Zoltanne, Markie Post (Night Court TV series) as Sarah's mother and Soleil Moon Frye (Punky Brewster) as Kyra. Lois Duncan once stated that it took a good stomach for her to watch this movie (does that mean she didn't like it?). Here is a summary from The Internet Movie Base:
When a California teen (Sarah Chalke) with an interest in the occult moves to a New England town, she finds that the town teens believe she is a witch sent to seek revenge on the descendants of the people who originally killed another witch a hundred years earlier. Things take a particularly deadly turn when they convince her to play a seer at a Halloween party where they will feed her information over an earphone about those who enter her tent, only she suddenly sees things beyond their knowledge or help.
Another Summary:
Someone is stalking teenagers in this picturesque New England town. A high school senior is mysteriously murdered and more teens fall victim to grisly accidents. Classmates blame Sarah, the new girl who recently moved with her mother Rosemary into an old house believed to be haunted. The legend is that 300 years ago another girl named Sarah had lived in that same house and was burned at the stake for suspected witchcraft. With her dying words, she cast a curse on the town and vowed to come back to destroy the descendants of her killers. Now, the town's teens believe the new Sarah is the evil reincarnation of that witch. As the body count rises, Sarah must fight for her life and discover who the real killer is.
