     MOVIE SUMMARY

The Don't Look Behind You movie aired on The Fox Family Network July 25, 1999. It starred Patrick Duffy (Dallas and Step by Step TV series) as Jeff Corrigan and Pam Daubier (Mork and Mindy) as Liz Corrigan. The movie focuses on the parents and not April, but April does play a good role in it. Here is a small summary for the David Winning Official site:

The film stars Patrick Duffy and Pam Dawber in a suspenseful adventure story about a family thrust into the Witness Relocation program -- that fails, in deadly ways, to protect them.

A long summary from Lance Robbins Official Site:

Jeff Corrigan, the chief financial officer for a multi-national conglomerate, has uncovered his boss Eric Loftin's money laundering schemes and finds himself to be an unwitting accomplice. Striving to clear his name and right the situation, Jeff goes undercover for the FBI, unbeknownst to his wife and children. But when a team of FBI agents, helmed by Ellie Foster, tries to capture Loftin, he realizes Jeff's duplicity. Eluding the FBI's pursuit, Loftin targets and threatens the Corrigans, leaving the family no choice but to desert their ordinary life and enter the Witness Relocation Program.

Initially, the Corrigans struggle in their new home, thousands of miles from Loftin. Jeff and Liz separated six months before and only speak to each other when necessary. Their daughter, April, strongly resents losing the opportunity to attend her high school prom with her sweetheart, Stefan, and the chance to pursue a promising career as a tennis professional. Their son, Brain, feels out of place, desperately wanting his parents to reunite to regain some remnant of his previously normal life.

But even with his family as virtual prisoners, Jeff is acutely aware that as the only witness who can testify against Loftin, he and his family are still in harm's way. The safety of his family is endangered further when April runs away from her parents and catches a plane back to their home town to be by Stefan's side. A phone call from Agent Foster informing that Loftin has his daughter confirms for Jeff that it is time to take justice into his own hands.

Determined to save his daughter and reclaim his family's normal life from the ruthless criminal who took it from them, Jeff follows April to confront Loftin in a battle that only one man can survive!

This movie holds particular interest than the others (IMHO) because Lois Duncan's daughter, Kerry, and grandchildren Erin, Brittany (Bop), and Ryan will have small parts in the movie as extras. Lois Duncan states that in the movie you will see an airport scene where April is put on the plane. Kerry along with the grandchildren will be in the background.

     BOOKS VS. MOVIE
Is this movie like the book? Not really. I would say this movie is more inspired by the book than anything else. The basic elements of the book are here: family goes into hiding; top henchman is after them. Check the Book vs. Movie section for more information.
